Martin & Co Sunderland

Martin & Co is a national network of independently owned property agents, with over 140 offices. Martin & Co Sunderland were one of our first Dataloft subscribers and we have worked with them for more than five years. All Martin & Co offices now have a Dataloft by PriceHubble subscription.

How do Martin & Co use Dataloft?

The Martin & Co marketing team have access to all of the local, regional and national market insights on Dataloft. They use these to understand the latest market trends for social media, targeted print campaigns (via our integration with Besley & Copp), email marketing, canvassing (via our integration with Spectre) and automated website content. Martin & Co offices also use the content in many ways, including taking market reports out to valuations, door drops, social media and email marketing.

Martin & Co Sunderland: building your brand and winning business by adding value

With a financial services background, Chris Poulton from Martin & Co Sunderland has always been a fan of numbers. When he moved into the estate agency world, he wanted to be an agent that would use data to help his clients make informed decisions and develop a business that was trusted and regarded as local experts. Dataloft was the ideal tool to give him access to huge amounts of market insights and content in seconds.

“Home movers are bothered about credibility, reliability, knowledge and that they trust an agent … You’ve got to do something that that makes them think that this is the person I'm going to go back to, because they helped me out and said something different. Using Dataloft from day one has helped us do that.”

Getting creative with data

Chris uses the content from Dataloft in a variety of ways. As well as arming him with insights to become a go-to source of local market information, Chris also demonstrates that using data as a core part of his marketing strategy is far from dull.

“Let’s imagine you get three mail shots. Mail shot one is generic, bland, basic. You get your next one saying ‘we need more properties’ and, so what! And then you get one like ours saying that values have gone up £68,000 since the turn of the century. Which one do you think will stand out?

“I did a post on LinkedIn showing that the highest value achieved in Sunderland recently was £690,000. It created so much interest because most people think that properties are so cheap. It played both ends of the market from people living in high end properties to the lowest value homes. It was something different, local and interesting to people rather than a circle showing that ‘we’ve sold more houses than everybody else.”
